Top 10 Favorite Makeup Brushes of All Time!

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

When it comes to makeup brushes, this is a very important tool when it comes to achieving a certain look. Call it a very-important-assistant, or assistants, I should say. They can take any look from average to s-l-a-y-e-d - PERIOD.

When it comes to choosing vegan, synthetic, or animal hair brushes, does it matter which one you choose?

Yes, it does matter. It's like asking which bag would you want to buy? The real Gucci or the fake Gucci like that looks like the real one?

Some brushes may be an investment even if it's synthetic or not, but the longevity of how long the brushes last will save you more in the end.

Here are my top 10 favorite brushes and how I use them!

1. MAC 170 Synthetic Rounded Slant Brush

This brush is my all time favorite liquid foundation brush. It applies on your skin very easily and does not leave a cakey finish. I use a dabbing motion when applying it onto my skin. When choosing a synthetic fiber, they do not leave the bristles stuck together when using the product.

2. MAC 263 Synthetic Small Angle Brush

If you want great brows, this magic wand right here is must-have. I totally believe brows are the focal point of your face and great brows are the best compliment. I use a brow pomade on my brows, but you can use a eye shadow as well with this brush and it will do wonders. This brush helps with arching and creating a great brow you've always wanted.

3. MAC 221 Synthetic Mini Tapered Blending Brush

A brush that can define any crease, big or small, this brush can do wonders. When using this brush, you do not need to use a lot of product since the brush does all the work for you.

4. MOTD Blending Bestie

This is a great blending brush for your base crease color, this will also help you blend out any harsh lines that you do not want to stick out. I always say, "When it doubt, blend it out." You never want a UN-blended eye shadow look.

5. MOTD Set and Go

The best blush brush, hands down. This brush can be used for multiple purposes. Blush on the cheeks, contour the forehead and chin, and set or refresh the face with powder.

6. MOTD Pencil Me In

If you want to smoke our your bottom lashes with an eye shadow or if don't want to use eyeliner on your waterline. This brush will give you the look you want, *wink face

7. MOTD Miss Shady Lady

A brush that perfectly lays your eye shadow on your lid without using too much product. A great tool to add to your collection.

8. Sephora Collection PRO Liner Brush #22

If you want a fleeky cut cat eye when using a gel liner, this cuts your liner nice and crisp. This also can clean up your liner - PRO TIP: use a eye cream or concealer to clean the edges of your cat eye to achieve a sleek look.

9. Makeup Shack T59 Synthetic Blending Brush

I use this brush to my apply my concealer. It blends it enough so it does not look cake face overload or so it does not add to creasing under the eye, since it is a delicate area.

10. Fan Brush *Unknown Brand

This is for all the fans, *LOL.

I use a thin fan brush to highlight the cheek bones and nose bridge. A delicate fan brush I feel give you enough highlight, without looking too much of a disco ball.
